The workshop program for the summer semester 2025 is online!

You can find an overview of the program, a description of each workshop, and information on how to register here

Our courses and workshops cover the fundamentals of academic writing and are taught by well-trained peer tutors and Schreibzentrum staff. In our workshops' welcoming and practice-oriented environments, you will learn anything from structuring a term paper to argumentation and even creative writing strategies.

We're looking forward to seeing you!

What might academic writing with AI-tools such as ChatGPT look like in the future? We're offering support in approaching this most recent question:

For students

  • You can ask our peer-tutors your questions about AI in writing in a writing consultation.
  • In our current program, you can find the workshops "AI Writing Tools in the Writing Process" or the German equivalent "KI-Tools in den Schreibprozess integrieren", as well as the workshops "KI-gestützte Schreibstrategien (für Fortgeschrittene)" and "KI als Hilfsmittel beim wissenschaftlichen Lesen" (in German).
  • The worksheet "KI-gestützte Schreibstrategien" (German only) contains four techniques for using language models as a source of inspiration in writing.
  • Together with studiumdigitale, we have collected some tips and advice for the responsible use of AI in the handout "Use of generative AI in studies".
  • With the AI-ToolLab, Goethe University provides students, faculty and staff with access to various AI tools in a secure environment.

For teachers

  • We expanded our program of seminar-integrated trainings and added the trainings "Maintaining Academic Integrity in the AI-integrated Writing Process" and the German equivalent "KI-Schreib-Tools: Einbindung in den Schreibprozess mit Blick auf akademische Integrität". Registration for the upcoming semester is always open around the end of the current semester. You can find the deadlines on the website.
  • On June 5, the workshop "KI-gestütztes Schreiben vermitteln" (German only) will take place in cooperation with the IKH. Please register via the IKH website.
  • We provide a framework (German only) for developing nuanced rules for dealing with AI.
  • We created a compact handout (German only) including important information and handy tips on using AI writing-tools in teaching.
  • Together with other central institutions of the university, we are continuously working on General recommendations for dealing with generative AI in studies and teaching.
  • With the AI-ToolLab, Goethe University provides students, faculty and staff with access to various AI tools in a secure environment.
  • We are happy to assist you with subject-specific concerns regarding the use of AI in academic writing by providing advice, input, workshops, etc. Please contact Daniel Rütten (d.ruetten@em.uni-frankfurt.de).

In our student writing consultations we offer individual, professional support for all kinds of writing projects and for all students at Goethe University. You can meet with us at any stage of the writing process; whether you need to find a research question, would like feedback on a nearly finished draft, or need regular consultations as you write your thesis or dissertation, we are there for you.
